The Rise and Fall of the New England Patriots: Blame Belichick

I’m not sure the Patriots previous 18 wins this season actually served them as well as history and Bostonians might have liked.

Had they lost tonight with a regular season of, say, 14-2, as they had in 2004 when they won the Superbowl, I don’t think they infamy of their loss would be great. Or even noticed. And the Giants would still have had an upset by any sports writing standard.

Interviewing Myself as an Entrepreneur

I don’t really think of myself as an entrepreneur. I can barely spell the word. But if I had a million dollars, I’d be a billionaire overnight. So, when I saw a little miniature interview that Shane and Peter were promoting, I thought about taking it. Then I realized there was a possible prize, so what did I have to lose?

I’ve talked about Shane and Peter, web developers, a few times here and here. All the questions here, except the last one, are from Shane and Peter. They also want each participant to come up with their own question as part of the contest. So that last doozy is mine. Don’t blame them for that one.

Alan’s 30-Day Blogging Challenge

My friend Alan has issued a challenge for bloggers to post at least once per day for the next 30 days. He’s hardly the first blogger I’ve read that has issued such a challenge, but he’s the first one I know personally. So, it would be kind of a shame to let him down.

Plus, although I sort of credit myself with getting him into blogging, he’s definitely learned a lot because he forces himself to try new things. He once had a blog just about American Idol - a show I’ve proudly never watched. But he learned a lot about blogging and traffic by doing it, and he made some bucks at the same time.

Patriots-Dolphin Game Exposes New England’s Weaknesses

Final Score: New England: 49, Miami: 28.

Well, congrats to the New England Pats. Brady executed a near flawless game against a torn, deflated, and winless Miami secondary. Despite a few incomplete passes and nearly being sacked four times (only one of which was official), Brady got a perfect passer rating, mostly due to a whopping six touchdowns.

In fact, no one expected much less from New England and they performed as well as expected, if not better against the worst team in the NFL (Miami) - at least as far as the standings go.

Dolphins Shock the World - Uphold 1972 Undefeated Squad

Miami DolphinsI never once doubted my faithful Dolphins to, at the least, uphold the legacy of the legendary undefeated 1972 Dolphins. But, today they did it not only with fervor, they did it with an amazing display of showmanship and grace, leaving the fans at Soldier Field open-mouthed, stunned and wondering if they were in a dream.

Television Viewing Habits

Steve Pavlina once again has posted yet another good article that I feel compelled to comment on. He currently is in the middle of a 30-day TV fast and while that is good, I’m hoping he, and many others, continue to avoid television much more. As a father of six children, people often question what we “do” since we don’t have a television. I find the question amusing - but first let me give a little background.

Where’s the Old Blog?

I’ve had a few emails about why I started a new blog, what happened to the old blog, etc. Yes, in a moment of shining clarity I deleted the old blog - forever. I can’t seem to recall the exact clarity anymore that led me to do that, however. I think it had something to do with the overall focus that the blog had strayed toward. You can still see the excerpts of the postings by using Google’s Blog Search and typing “MelbourneLawrence” which was the name of the old blog. I think you’ll see what I mean.
