New Year Goals: It’s all about Cycling

Old Guy CyclingPhoto by kamshots. It’s been way too long since the days that I rode dozens and dozens of miles through the backroads of Long Island, so in my new year’s resolutions, I’ve decided to make cycling a central focus of getting back into shape.

First, I love cycling. A lot more than lifting weights or running. Second, I need something that gets me outdoors away from this cursed computer. With pilates and weights, I’m still a bit too close to the daily excitement of being a web entrepreneur. Must… get… away…

Vegan Meal Planner Just Released

My friend Alan and his wife Jean have been living a true vegan lifestyle for many years now. They are in great shape and look terrific. I don’t exactly know how “vegan” they are, as I’m not entirely up on that lifestyle due to my love of the Jack Daniel’s menu at TGI Fridays. Those items are very time-consuming to eat which leaves me little time to read up on vegan issues.

Adultitis

After discovering Adultitis by Jason and Kim Kotecki, I almost had to laugh at how uptight we adults have become. I really liked their 40-Day Escape Plan. Unfortunately, with six children and a very busy schedule, I don’t quite have the luxury of doing my 40 days all in a row as they did. However, my wife has sort of encouraged us to do the 40-Day plan, so I thought I’d do it as I have time.

Water Only Diet - First Day

Technically, I started last night. Here was my stats last night:

Weight: 238
Blood Pressure: 124/85, Pulse 95

I took my blood pressure at Walmart. All I had done was walk from my car to the store and stood near the blood pressure monitors for a few minutes before picking one and then sitting down at the blood pressure machine near the pharmacy. I have no idea why my pulse was kind of high other than general unhealthy.

The New Water-Only Diet that I’m Starting

I hope I don’t bore too many of you loyal readers. I have decided to start a new “water only” diet. And I intend to post my results from time to time here.

First, I hate the word diet, because I’m actually not going to alter my diet at all. This is all based off my longtime belief that drinking more water can “cure” nearly any ailment or problem us humans have. I’ve been very quick to say it, but not very good at living it.
